Molson Coors Canada and the City of Stratford are partnering this year to ensure New Year’s Eve revellers have an easy option to help them get home safely after ringing in the New Year. Free transit service will be offered on all transit bus routes from 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve until 3 a.m.

The New Year’s Eve transit program offers free public transportation on the transit system on New Year’s Eve to help ensure people get home safe after ringing in the New Year. It encourages everyone to plan to get home safe by letting public transit be their designated driver.

I was just part of a great announcement at the Winnipeg Transit garage. I was joined by Deputy Mayor Justin Swandel, Director of Transit Dave Wardrop and Patrol Seargant Damian Turner in announcing that Molson is helping to sponsor free transit service across the Winnipeg transit network on New Year’s Eve. The free fares will run from 7pm until end of service.

At Molson, encouraging people to make responsible choices is a 365 day a year commitment. We know the holidays are a busy time of year with many celebrations and we are focusing our responsible drinking initiatives on helping to ensure that people get home safe. That’s why partnering with the City of Winnipeg and Winnipeg Transit on this great initiative is such a great fit. We sincerely hope that Winnipeg residents take us up on our offer to pick up their fare on New Year’s Eve.

Happy holidays everyone!
