Today, I had the privilege of attending the kickoff to Vancouver 2010 Winter Games torch relay on the lawn of the BC legislature. It was an amazing experience with literally thousands of Victorians and other Canadians lining the streets for a view of the torch bearers.
I’ve attached a little video that I shot. Hopefully it give you a bit of a sense of what the energy level was like; it was truly amazing.
We at Molson Coors are so proud to be the Official Beer Supplier to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games and are looking forward to celebrating with Canadians from Coast to Coast to Coast!
Congratulations to the Victoria sales team for taking the time to lend a hand at the Our Place Society, a homeless shelter and soup kitchen. Yesterday, Bryan Vermeeren, Tye Spicer, Mila Cormack and Chad Stewart prepared and served a hot turkey lunch to over 400 of Victoria’s homeless and marginalized citizens. This is yet another example of Molson staff taking the opportunity to Play Their Part by giving back. Way to go!!

Over 40 of Molson’s BC sales staff and management took a break from their sales conference in Victoria on April 10 to help give back to the local community by volunteering at the Salvation Army homeless shelter and its Beacon Bus mobile unit. Fifteen of the Molson staff remained at the shelter and prepared and served dinner to 80 of Victoria’s most vulnerable citizens while the other 25 traveled to Blanshard Court, one of Victoria’s most marginalized housing developments, to serve hot food and distribute donations.
Fuelled by our incredible success at our National Sales Conference in February, where Molson employees raised over $90,000 in one morning to support Raising the Roof, BC sales staff contacted Volunteer Victoria looking for opportunities to support the community during their April sales conference. By working directly with Volunteer Victoria and the Salvation Army, local Molson sales associate Tye Spicer was able to organize a volunteer effort that was very meaningful to those most in need in the Victoria community.
I was one of the fifteen who helped prepare and serve dinner at the Salvation Army and it was a very meaningful experience for all of us there – the teamwork and camaraderie exhibited by the BC sales team was amazing. Many thanks to Tye, Volunteer Victoria and the Salvation Army for their assistance in creating this opportunity to give back!
