There’s so much to say about what’s been happening here, I don’t know where to start. The Olympics is not just about sports. It’s about people coming together from all across Canada and from around the world. In today’s episode check out the action with hockey fans from coast-to-coast as they gathered to watch the first men’s Team Canada game at the Molson Canadian Hockey House. There’s only word, Wow! The opening ceremony was an amazing spectacle, and since then it’s been non-stop. Canada is so privileged to be hosting these 21st Winter Olympic Games, and now we’re living up to our responsibility and surpassing expectations. Showing hospitality and showing the world that Canada dominates in the event called “Hospitality”. These are Canada’s games to win, and Molson Coors will be on the ground here for every event. In today’s report we bring you interviews with Dave Perkins our CEO and Jeff Batchelor, one of the Molson Canadian/Export Fund a Champion recipient athlete who talked to me ahead of his big day Wednesday when he’ll be competing in his is first Olympics in the Snowboard Halfpipe event. Finally we’ll show you highlights of the entertainment at the Molson Canadian Hockey House, and take you on a tour of the Coors Light Hillside Chalet in Whistler. We’re just getting started, so come along for the ride!
La Canada occupe une place de choix en tant qu’hôte des Jeux olympiques d’hiver. Nous faisons déjà bonne figure, mais devons malgré tout dépasser les attentes. Une des occasions de ce faire est de démontrer notre hospitalité et de prouver à tous que le Canada est un leader lors de l’événement « Hospitalité et célébrations du Canada ». Les cérémonies d’ouverture étaient grandioses et l’enthousiasme n’a pas faibli depuis. Ces Jeux sont particulièrement importants pour le Canada et Molson Coors sera sur le terrain pour chacun des événements. Hier soir, nous avions la cévémonie officielle de bienvenue dans les villages olympiques et de la levée du drapeau canadien pour l’occasion. Pas mal tous les athlètes déjà arrivés à Vancouver étaient présents pour l’occasion ainsi que plusieurs VIP… même les mascottes étaient au rendez-vous…
Aujourd’hui nous avons la conférence de presse du début des jeux et ensuite ma gang arrive donc je vais les chercher à l’aéroport, ce soir il y a une réception à la maison olympique canadienne dans le La Baie… donc encore une journée assez remplie…

Aujourd’hui, le 9 février, nous avons droit à un plein soleil et la visite des dignitaires du CIO dans le village et aussi de la gouverneure générale Michaëlle Jean qui était très sympathique.
J’ai animé pour eux l’inauguration de l’installation de la trève olympique (2 panneaux commémoratifs qui seront signés par tous les athlètes qui le désirent). Donc, impossible pour moi de prendre des photos, mais Sylvie, notre chef de presse en a prises; si elles sont bonnes, je vous les fais suivre…
Nous avons accueilli hier nos équipes de courte-piste, de hockey féminin et de curling.
Bref, on est à D- 3 et ce soir, notre agenda est pas mal rempli: je vais faire une entrevue pour RDI, ensuite un discours pour Visa qui donne une réception, pour ensuite me rendre à la réception d’ouverture du CIO. Finalement, je vais livrer un discours pour le passage de la flamme dans les bureaux du Comité organisateur de Vancouver…
Demain, ce sera plutôt calme … en soirée, nous assisterons à la cérémonie de levée du drapeau Canadien dans le village (qui sert d’accueil officiel)
I arrived in Vancouver yesterday, and it feels a little calmer than what I had expected, no major traffic jams to get downtown, or massive crowds on the streets. It is truly the “calm before the storm” feeling. I say that because you can see lots of visitors, media from around the world and their camera crews, you see the official VANOC vehicles roaming the streets. While it seems calm I sense the excitement and the trepidation of everyone I’ve met so far since I got here…the city is ready. Vancouverites are happy and it shows in their display of hospitality everywhere, it will be without a doubt an exciting few weeks! And we want to bring you a piece of it by giving you an inside look at “our” Games.

Je suis arrivée hier à Vancouver, ça va super bien, il fait beau et 8 degrés et le village est magnifique…
Il y a déjà plus de 70 pays arrivés et installés et de notre côté, environ 75% de l’équipe est là.
Le village est super (voir photo ci-dessus d’une des 2 batisses du Canada) et aussi une photo de la vue de ma chambre sur BC Place…
Hier j’ai croisé Jennifer Heil et Dominic son entraîneur, et ne vous en faites pas, il y a de la neige à Cypress et les entraînements de l’équipe de ski acrobatique vont très bien.

Those three words are like cracking open a fresh cold refreshing beer after a long action orientied day of winter holiday fun and enjoyment. To hear the words “Happy New Year” is symbolic of starting anew, looking to the twelve months that lay ahead, putting the previous year into the archives. And what a year we have ahead at Molson Coors Canada. We have also collaborated with the Four Host First Nations and VANOC to create a commemorative lapel pin with the intent of raising $50,000 to initiative the Vancouver 2010 Aboriginal Youth Legacy Program. Through Molson Canadian and Molson Export Fund A Champion Campaigns we have raised $200,000 in support of ten Olympic and Paralympic aspirigin athletes who represent all regions of the country. We are also delighted that Jennifer Botterill from Canada’s Womens’ hockey team, joined the Molson Coors team to help support us in spreading the message for Responsible Choices throughout the year. Yes…2010 is going to be one terrific year and we look forward to raising a glass to the world as Canada celebrates bringing the games to Vancouver British Columbia in 2010.
