Always fun when people ask about our blog. How did it start and why do we do it? It started because our team really felt that we just weren’t breaking through traditional media with all the great things we are doing in communities. After 224 years, we’re truly proud of the difference that we can make in connecting with Canadians in their communities coast to coast to coast. http://blog.molson.com/community/ helps us be in conversation and connections with Canadians. I was most inspired by “Naked Conversations” by Scoble and Israel…to get on with doing it the “right way” in early 2008. Always open to suggestions on how people think we can improve our conversations and presence in social media. Cheers @MolsonFerg

I’m taking a page from @chrisbrogan regarding the follow friday #followfriday posts and activity and shouting out a few folks on twitter that may be of interest to beer drinkers and others following Molson Coors Canada and our beers.
@ohlmedia are leading up to their May playoff runs towards the Memorial Cup being held in Brandon this year. @MolsonCanAmp is the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre located at Ontario Place in Toronto and the hotbed of great concerts all summer long. A big welcome to Canada’s Women’s Hockey team member Jennifer Botterill @jenbotterill. Jennifer is assisting Molson Coors in spreading the good word on responsible choices in Canada. @imagin8tr is Billie Mintz, a colourful and extraordinary documentarian with whom we provided support for his recent message in the bottle episodes promoting responsible drinking messages. The story is very compelling and personally heart wrenching in this case as Billie lost a cousin in a tragic accident a couple of summers ago. Turning now to Tyler at @NHLdigest…a banker by day but totally enthrawled in all things hockey…no doubt he’ll have lots of posts and conversations as hockey playoffs unfold. I would be remiss if I didn’t highlight some of the people on the Molson Coors team who are tweeting on a regular basis…@MolsonTonia who is looking after all of our community relations (and its one big community and getting bigger) for Molson Coors in Canada, @MolsonCaroleB in public affairs and working community and government relations and responsible choice projects, @MolsonBryan who heads up gr/pr in western Canada @MolsonMoffat…leading External Communications in Canada @MolsonMarieke who heads up Public Affairs in Quebec, @MolsonMonique that is a long time steward of our community relations activities and liaison with the Montreal Canadiens and their Alumni, @MolsonMH tackling external communications in the Quebec market @MolsonFK in brand communications and community outreach @MolsonAmir who leads a lot of our community and CR initiatives in Canada as well as GR (Government Relations by the way) @MolsonSeb who leads our internal communications work and employee tools for communicating @MolsonRoss who leads the infrastructure and digital tools for our business @MolsonGraeme who’s managing a lot our connectedness with “Molson Insiders“. OK…I’ll stop there. Hopefully this approach is more helpful than just plunking a lot of @’s into one tweet. Thanks to @Chris Brogan for the recommendation. Cheers to a great weekend everyone. @MolsonFerg
