Ferg, Tonia and I were up and at’em early to announce that Molson Coors Canada will help Torontonians get home safetly on New Year’s Eve once again this year.  Molson Coors will support the TTC’s free New Year’s Eve transit service, celebrating Toronto residents who choose to make the responsible choice and arrive home safely after ringing in the New Year.  The service will be offered from 12:01 a.m. (January 1, 2010) until 4 a.m. It is expected that over 100,000 people will ride the TTC during this time.

We are happy to partner with the Toronto Transit Commission, the Liberty Entertainment Group and the other sponsors to help Toronto residents make the responsible choice this New Year’s Eve.  Let TTC be your designated driver this New Year’s Eve.

This sponsorship is part of its 2009 Taking You Home for the Holidays campaign, which includes the sponsorship of free transit service on New Year’s Eve in Toronto, Ottawa, and Stratford, ON; Winnipeg, MB; and Regina, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw and Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The campaign will also be active in Quebec through its Molson Angels, as well as in St. John’s, NL; Halifax, NS; Moncton, NB; Charlottetown, PE; Edmonton, AB; and Vancouver, BC, with the distribution of over $5,000 in TAXIGUY Dollars – the National Taxicab Currency for Canada.

What’s important to us at Molson Coors Canada,  is that our products are consumed in a responsible way by all those who enjoy them. Responsible drinking and celebrating responsible choices is something that is on our agenda 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Molson Coors Canada is proud to play its part to help people make the responsible choice to get home safely this holiday season, as well as throughout the year.

Cheers and Happy Holidays, CaroleB

Molson Proud to Play our Part: Toronto New Years Free Ride ON

All the Sponsors of Toronto's TTC Free Rides on New Year's Eve

We were proud to join with others today at Toronto City Hall to announce that the Toronto TTC free ride will be happening again this New Years eve in Toronto from midnight to 4am.  Mayor David Miller and Adam Gambrione lead the charge by kicking off the press conference at City Hall. We all then joined together for a photo up in front of the bus…with the headline “Free Ride Survives”. Molson put the challenge out December 5th and members of the Toronto Entertainment District, bar and restaurant owners, businesses and other corporate partners have jumped on board to keep this free ride program on the rails for New Years eve in Toronto. Nick DiDonato from the Liberty Entertainment Group took up the challenge of rallying this divergent group of hospitality industry leaders. Here’s to Responsible Choices and getting home safe for the holidays ! This New Years Eve…take the better way.

Molson Willing To Provide Some Support to Keep TTC Free Ride On The Rails

Home for the Holidays

Several employees called me today expressing their dissapointment that the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) will not be offering a “free ride” on New Year’s eve this year. Molson has a number of initiatives being conducted in communities across the country this holiday season. To help with keeping this on the rails (sorry for the pun) Molson is willing to contribute $20,000 towards the TTC free ride this coming New Years eve. We have advised the City of our willingness. Although the total cost is reported at being $85,000, we feel that this might encourage other corporations to step up with support, or at least allow TTC to reduce the fare for riders on New Years eve in Toronto. Here’s To Responsible Choices this holiday season.  Help promote responsible choices this holiday season, send an ecard to your friends and family.
