Toronto Plays Hockey for Food!

What does 100 participants, two rinks and awesome attitudes equal? Well, how about 6,000 pounds of food for the Daily Bread Food Bank sound!

On Thursday, July 12th 2012, in the heart of the city - Young – Dundas Square, Five Hole for Food invited hockey players and volunteers to play hockey in exchange for a  donation of a canned food item, which went  to the Daily Bread Food Bank.  People gathered to play, watch and donate food for the cause; despite the hot weather!

This is the 3rd  year for the Toronto Five Hole for Food event and the biggest one yet; with Molson Canadian as a sponsor,  how can you go wrong!! Five Hole for Food has brought people together in the community for a good cause. And let’s face it… sports; hot sunny day; supporting a great cause and a great Canadian cold beer on a patio! It does not get better than that!

Five Hole for Food’s 2012 Tour across Canada is wrapping up. Still a chance to participate if you’re in Vancouver! Sign up here : FiveHoleForFood

As a newbie to Molson (Summer Intern), this was my first glimpse of what it is like to be part of an event; I was very surprised at how many people attended and participated, especially with an extreme heat alert! Did that stop anyone? NO - There were lots of people who donated and tons of people lining up to play hockey! The crowd was enthusiastic and there were lots encouraging others on! For an extremely hot day, everyone had smiles on their faces and gave it their all – to a great cause and to playing a great sport!
