As the summer gets into full swing we want to pay tribute to those who make responsible choices. Let’s all encourage our family, friends, acquaintances and others to make responsible choices this summer. With summer comes a lot of new activities whether at the cottage, on vacation, travelling Canadian roads, venturing out on new discoveries or just enjoying your own back yard, town, city, farm or retreat. At Molson we say “Here’s To Responsible Choices” and are proud that Jennifer Botterill from the Women’s hockey team as joined with us to help spread the word. Enjoy this flip video clip from Jennifer wishing everyone a summer full of responsible choices. @MolsonFerg

The long standing ritual of summer representative training and development took place again today at our Molson Brewery in Toronto. I must admit it was a bit of an emotional event on my part, since I was sitting in their chairs 29 years ago, as a summer rep from Kenora Ontario. Time has flown but the “best summer job on the planet” hasn’t changed much. The team delved in to Molson field opportunities, promotions, responsible choices, safety and the role of summer amabassadors. Forty six summer reps will be travelling across the province of Ontario supporting our field representatives throught the peak selling period at festivals, slo pitch tournaments, community gatherings, local events, in bar promotions and anywhere that good responsible summer fun will be taking place. At the end of my chat with the summer team I asked them to help shout out a message for responsible choices this summer. Here’s To Responsible Choices and a great summer in Ontario and right across this great country of Canada. Cheers.

Last week was the annual arrive alive DRIVE SOBER campaign kick off at the Toronto Police Service Headquarters. The Ontario Community Council on Impaired Driving (OCCID) started this campaign (now in its 20th year!) to help drivers make the decision not to drink and drive, preventing senseless injuries and saving lives.
Molson, along with other organizations (Ministry of Transportation adn The Beer Store.), is a proud partner of OCCID.

As the first long weekend approaches, I thought it would be appropriate to also write about a great organization that Molson has been working with for over 10 years – Taxiguy.
Taxiguy is an amazing organization that focuses on getting people home safely. How does it work?
- You call one easy-to-remember toll free number – 1-888-TAXIGUY
- In 700 cities across Canada
- Automatically directs caller to nearest cab company
A very unique service that Taxiguy offers is its Taxi Dollars Program – taxi currency that can be redeemed as a fare. It works just like a gift certificate… see the video below!

Justin Raymond is the creator of Taxiguy, and he kindly agreed to do a quick interview with me at the arrive alive kick-off about Taxiguy.

As a final thought…for those of you who have children, friends, nieces, nephews, etc. in university and college…maybe instead of sending them money for groceries or gift cards for their birthdays….send them a safe ride home — taxi dollars!
Have a great long weekend….Cheers
