Boundless Fun at Boundless Adventures

Boundless Adventures

Photo: Boundless Adventures Team; Carew Herback, Molson

What a great photo!  I wish Hammer and I had been able to help you out Carew with this one….below Carew gives us a glimpse of his day at Boundless;

My time  at Boundless was spent watching young adults at the Boundless Ranch, a beautiful outdoor recreational area used to give outdoor opportuntities to those who could not enjoy them otherwise.  The adventures are endless at Boundless, this group offers a wide variety of activities to challenge these young adults  and in turn they will stretch their personal limits.  No easy task for anyone. Quite a few of the activities are on the water;  canoeing and kayaking the rapids seem to be the most popular.  I was particularly inspired by the jungle gym and rock climbing barn that were wheelchair accessible.  It was truly an amazing experience.  Check out their website at

Thank you  Carew for sharing your day with all of us, Cheers!

Good Work at Good Shepherd

The Good Shepherd Centre

For those of you who might not know, the Good Shepherd Centre in Toronto is a place that provides shelter, meals and rehabilitation programs for many people in need.  Last Friday, seven Molson employees, myself included, joined the incredible staff at the centre (on Queen St., East of Parliament) where we saw first hand how Good Shepherd is making a difference.

We arrived around noon and were introduced to some of the staff who told us a bit about the centre and what we would be doing that afternoon.  With lunch service starting shortly after we got there, we were aproned-up and given our serving duties…I was on coffee/tea.

We served 160 meals that afternoon and had a great time — I was so impressed by how efficient and organized everything was.

A little background on Good Shepherd:

  • Provides shelter to 90 people nightly
  • Open 7 days a week, 365 days a year
  • Serves meals to several hundred people in need on a daily basis
  • Runs a rehabilitation program for a number of clients
  • Much of the food is donated through the Food Bank, Second Harvest and direct donations

Molson donated $5,000 to Good Shepherd to help them help others, and trust me, that’s exactly what they do.

Thanks to Kanwaljeet Biln, Fundraiser, Events and Resources, Brother Tom Liss, Director and Aklilu Wendaferew, Assistant Executive Director at Good Shepherd for letting us come volunteer, and to Molson Employees Ian Douglas, Bryan Egan, Fionna Cunnigham, Matt Hook and Steve Ferreira for taking the time to help out.

A hightlight of the day for me?  I was serving coffee, and one of the clients came up to me, took a coffee, and said, “Thanks for taking the time to be here today, and by the way, I used to live in Montreal and saw the Molson brewery everyday.”   Cheers to that!
