I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since the end of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games…I’m still having a bit of #van2010 withdrawal! Luckily enough, to help us make it through the post-Olympic pains, 9 Canadian Olympic and Paralympic athletes visited the Molson Coors Toronto’s office on Tuesday afternoon to chat and have a beer with our employees.
@MolsonFerg chatting with the Olympians and Paralympians
Six of our Molson Canadian/Molson Export Fund a Champion athletes joined us along with 3 other Olympians to speak about their experiences at the Games and what’s in the future for them.
Later that evening, the athletes and some of the Molson Coors crew headed to the Leafs game. Thank you to all the athletes…a truly unforgettable night. And big thanks to the MLSE folks for the jerseys, photos and intros, and of course the visit from Carlton the bear!
Have a great long weekend everyone. Cheers, @MolsonTonia
There’s only word, Wow! The opening ceremony was an amazing spectacle, and since then it’s been non-stop. Canada is so privileged to be hosting these 21st Winter Olympic Games, and now we’re living up to our responsibility and surpassing expectations. Showing hospitality and showing the world that Canada dominates in the event called “Hospitality”. These are Canada’s games to win, and Molson Coors will be on the ground here for every event. In today’s report we bring you interviews with Dave Perkins our CEO and Jeff Batchelor, one of the Molson Canadian/Export Fund a Champion recipient athlete who talked to me ahead of his big day Wednesday when he’ll be competing in his is first Olympics in the Snowboard Halfpipe event. Finally we’ll show you highlights of the entertainment at the Molson Canadian Hockey House, and take you on a tour of the Coors Light Hillside Chalet in Whistler. We’re just getting started, so come along for the ride!
Jennifer Botterill’s (Team Canada – Women’s Hockey) Olympic medals
Wooooow! Yesterday was awesome. In celebration of International Olympic Day, Molson held BBQ’s across the country and invited Olympic and Paralympic athletes from our Fund a Champion Program to join us.
In Toronto, Jeff Batchelor (Snowboard), Billy Bridges (Sledge Hockey) and Jennifer Botterill (Team Canada – Women’s Hockey) dropped in to chat, take photos, sign autographs and play some ‘Olympic’ games with our employees. We even had a road hockey tournament in our parking lot!
Molson is a proud supporter and the Official Beer Supplier of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games, and, after getting to meet the athletes in person, chat with them, and even hold their GOLD medals, the feeling of pride is even greater. Thank you to ALL employees who joined in the games and donated to our athletes; to the organizers of the BBQs – your hard work was truly appreciated; and to our Fund a Champion Athletes across the country who took the time to visit our offices and breweries and hang out with the Molson crew – an unforgettable day.
