Sales Rep, Ed McGurry and P&E Manager, Tracey Winch, along with the ever popular Molson Canadian Extreme Team, connect Molson Canadian to Hockey in the COMMUNITY raising money for the Winnipeg Harvest Food Bank.
By partnering with Power 97, Winnipeg’s number one rock station, we received air time for 3 weeks leading up to the 5th Annual Hockey Day in the Winnipeg Sponge Hockey tournament.
The sold out tournament is a day filled with hockey action and delicious Molson Canadian Lager sold in the beer garden located in the Melrose Community Centre
Not only did we raise money through beer garden sales, additional dollars were raised through 50/50 draws, and sponge hockey team’s registration fee; Molson MDF also donated $2,500 to Winnipeg Harvest. A total of $6,670 was raised for the Winnipeg Harvest Food Bank!
The Molson Canadian Sponge Hockey tournament after party took place down the street at the Henderson Draft House where we announced the winning teams and awarded prizes. All in all a great Canadian Day!! See below for some highlights from PowerTV. Cheers Tracey and MolsonCaroleB

L to R: Roland Stanke, Mayor of Clinton; Tony Talarico, Molson Sales Rep
Recently, Molson British Columbia Sales representative Tony Talarico had the opportunity to present a $6,000 donation to the Village of Clinton, British Columbia. These funds are for the completion of the new Zamboni shed at the Clinton arena.
At Molson, we are proud to play our part in Canadian communities from coast-to coast-to coast in supporting initiatives, like this one in Clinton, that promote active lifestyles, skills development and healthy communities.

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Brian Burke for a special appearance to chat exclusively with Molson Toronto’s head office employees over lunch. What a treat it was! “Burkeee” gave us an overview of the kind of team he wishes devoted Leafs’ fans to see on the ice sooner rather than later.
One commonality with Molson’s own values in doing business is to give back to the community where you work and live. This is true for Burke and for all his players who wear or will wear the Leafs jersey from now on. He wants players to be involved and give back to the community. That’s not optional, nor is it negotiable as far as he’s concerned!
I am no Leafs fan, never was. I grew up in Montreal, but I must say I liked what I heard from the Leafs general manager and I think it is exciting for all Leafs fans who indisputably deserve a solid, more competitive and involved team both on and off the ice…With Burke at the helm, it seems like change is bound to happen for the Maple Leafs, their fans and the community. But from Burke’s own assessment, there is a lot more work to be done before we can see a real NHL playoff contender.
Check out some of the conversations we had with Burke.

The giving continued on Sunday when I presented a $10,000 donation to the Dieppe Commandos Education Fund at the team’s home game. These funds will go to help members of the Maritime Junior A team offset their education costs if they achieve pre-determined academic goals.
This is our third year of the partnership and we are proud of our association with this great organization. They will be hosting the Fred Page Cup in 2009 and we will be behind them all the way.

Team Canadian Forces faced off with Team Molson for a ball hockey game to break in the new hockey surface located on base in Shearwater, Nova Scotia. The day was warm, maybe too warm for Team Molson as we lost 10 – 5. I think a re match is called for, what do you think?
