On Saturday, March 23 at 8:30PM local time, we will be participating in Earth Hour!
At Molson Coors Canada, we’re proud to be actively engaged in raising awareness for our employees at all of our locations across the country and reaching out to families, friends, neighbours, customers, beer drinkers and all Canadians to take action this Saturday.
Our facilities across Canada will be participating by powering down all non-essential lighting for one hour. This is our 6th consecutive year participating in the world’s largest climate change initiative which reminds us how small actions can result in some powerful energy conservation.
We encourage you to join hundreds of millions of people switching off lights to pledge support for the planet. Check out Earth Hour for some fun ideas on how you can get involved.
This Saturday March 26, 2011 at 8:30 p.m. (local time), we will be participating in Earth Hour for our foruth year!
At 8:30 p.m., Molson Coors offices in Canada, the U.S. and the UK will turn off all non-essential lighting for one hour, and our breweries across Canada will shut down external signage and supplementary lights.
We’ll be joining hundreds of millions of people across the world who are switching off lights to pledge their support for the planet. In 2010, a record 128 countries joined the display of climate action, including iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas.
We are excited about Earth Hour and hope you are as well. How will you be spending your hour in the dark? Cheers!
Well, tomorrow night from 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. is Earth Hour 2010. We’re all set to power down at Molson Coors and hope you are too. Some fun ideas on how to show your support on the Earth Hour website!
Have a great weekend everyone. Cheers, @MolsonTonia
P.S. My beer of choice for tomorrow night: Rickard’s Dark…mmm.
Earth Hour is this weekend and Molson Coors Brewing Company facilities around the world will be participating by turning off all non-essential lights from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time. This is our third consecutive year participating in the world’s largest climate change initiative which reminds us how small actions can bring change and make huge impacts. Last year during Earth Hour Molson Coors Canada reduced kilowatt consumption by approximately 1,595 KWH in that single hour – that’s enough energy to power a house for an entire month! WOW.
How are you spending your time in the dark? Not sure what I’m doing yet, but here are a couple suggestions from last year
Thought I’d share some photos and video from Earth Hour at Molson. Coast to coast to coast, our breweries shut off all non-essential lights from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. What did you end up doing during Earth Hour on Saturday night?

Molson Employees in Toronto were asked to fill out an Earth Hour checklist before they left the office on Friday afternoon.
Sebastien filled out his checklist and got a thumbs up from the task force.
I stopped in at WWF last week and interviewed Tara Wood, PR Manager at WWF Canada – she talks about how social media has made a big impact on this year’s campaign.
Earth Hour is only a few days away, and we’re pretty much good to go at Molson. We’ve got our Earth Hour task force ready to power down the office; we’ve planned a cold picnic lunch for tomorrow; and our breweries across Canada will be turning off all non-essential lights – we’re set!
What now? Well, Molson wants to know how you plan to spend YOUR Earth Hour!
