Une quarantaine de bénévoles, dont une vingtaine d’employés Molson Coors qui pouvaient inviter un ami ou un membre de sa famille, se sont investis le samedi 26 février dernier, pour activer la vente des billets de loterie lors du match de nos Glorieux, activité visant à recueillir des fonds pour la Fondation des Canadiens pour l’enfance.
Des consignes et des directives de la part des responsables de la Fondation ainsi que celle de mon collègue Sébastien Charbonneau, responsable des communications chez Molson Coors, qui faisait la promotion de notre réseau social interne “Club Molson Coors” de Yammer – un réseau social unique à tous les employés Molson Coors au niveau global!
Notre équipe de bénévoles aura ainsi permis de récolter près de 12,000$ dont 10,000$ pour la Fondation ainsi que 2,000$ pour le gagnant parmi ceux et celles qui ont fait l’achat de billets pour encourager la fondation, dont la mission est de venir en aide aux enfants défavorisés du Québec.
Je félicite personnellement tous mes collègues de Molson Coors qui ont accepté d’emblée de relever ce défi, et merci à la Fondation pour nous avoir permis de faire une différence. Aujourd’hui, lundi matin, je n’ai entendu que des commentaires positifs, où tout ce beau monde s’est bien amusé! Santé!

Between Christmas day and New Year’s eve it’s always fun to read the papers and on line commentary related to the year that has passed. 2010 was one heck of a memorable year. For Molson Coors to have had Molson Canadian and Coors Light as the two official beers of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic games was not only special for those of us that were involved, but a great moment for beer drinkers coast to coast to coast as we connected through the games, our athletes and celebrations in bars, restaurants, neighbourhood and family get togethers at home and of course Molson Canadian Hockey House right in the centre of action in Vancouver. We were also so very proud of acquiring a Sustainability Star from VANOC for the sustainability acations at our brewery in Vancouver. It has also been very rewarding to have supported ten of our Canadian athletes in pursuit of their Olympic/Paralympic dreams. Their trials and tribulations live on and are now part of our Olympic/Paralympic and sport history and heritage. And…our employees in Vancouver “reported” on the 2010 games through their eyes with daily dispatches posted right here to the blog.
It was also a great year of connecting with communities across Canada through hundreds of charitable events and causes. This blog is a scrap book of the many community touch points throughout the year. A special shout out to @MolsonTonia and @MolsonMonique for the work they do with community leaders across Canada.
It all points back to our founder John Molson where our commitment to community remains today, John Molson said in his early days “we are all members of a larger community which depends on everyone playing a part”. This community commitment lives on today as we look to 2011 and celebrating 225 years of brewing in Canada.
Our employees, customers and beer drinkers coast to coast to coast in Canada know that Molson Coors is there to help them build and celebrate healthy active communities. A toast to the year that was and we look forward to great things in communities coast to coast to coast in our 225th year of brewing in Canada. Cheers ! @MolsonFerg

Always fun when people ask about our blog. How did it start and why do we do it? It started because our team really felt that we just weren’t breaking through traditional media with all the great things we are doing in communities. After 224 years, we’re truly proud of the difference that we can make in connecting with Canadians in their communities coast to coast to coast. http://blog.molson.com/community/ helps us be in conversation and connections with Canadians. I was most inspired by “Naked Conversations” by Scoble and Israel…to get on with doing it the “right way” in early 2008. Always open to suggestions on how people think we can improve our conversations and presence in social media. Cheers @MolsonFerg

De G à D: Une ancienne bouteille “Molson Export” (qui, étrangement, fait beaucoup penser à la nouvelle image!!!) François Cantin, Marc-Olivier Gagnon (qui avait dû raser sa moustache ce matin du 30 novembre dans des circonstances nébuleuses!), Bruno Ledoux (qui fait partie des concepteurs de la nouvelle image Molson Export), Mathieu Turcotte, Rhéaume Gagnon, Pierre-Marc Paquet et le grand manitou de l’équipe, le Capitaine, Alexandre Guay. Naturellement, au centre, la plus chanceuse de Molson Coors, votre dévouée Monique Dépatie, responsable des Relations communautaires!
Non, mais combien de filles au Québec m’envieront d’être aussi bien entourée! Je sais combien je suis privilégiée et gâtée!!!
C’est avec beaucoup de fierté que je vous présente notre équipe MOlstaches de Molson Coors, une gang de gars exceptionnels qui ont entrepris un défi de taille, une première à récolter près de 8,000$, dans le cadre de MOvember (cancer de la prostate). Il faut en avoir des amis-es, des collègues, et des supporteurs!!! Bravo les gars, vous avez définitivement “scoré”!!!

Je joins également une photo de Marc-Olivier Gagnon avec sa moustache, histoire d’apprécier (ou pas!) la différence …
Je peux vous assurer que l’équipe a été sincère dans sa démarche, et que les moustaches feront partie de l’histoire dès demain matin!!! Voilà pourquoi je me suis empressée de fixer le moment à tout jamais d’une gang formidable. Ils ont toutes les raisons d’être fiers de leur initiative (et leur blonde sans doute!)

Molson Coors Canada donated $10,000 towards the expansion of the Kelowna Family YMCA-YWCA, an 18,000 square foot project slated for completion in the summer of 2011.

“At Molson Coors Canada, we are proud to play our part in communities across Canada in supporting charitable projects that promote active lifestyles,” said Kelowna Sales Representative Dan Cannan (third from left)
When completed, the $5.7 million project will enable twice as many Kelowna residents the opportunity to engage in healthy activities and get involved through volunteerism.
“The largest component of the expansion is the addition of the new gymnasium which will create a “centre of community,” said Sharon Peterson, CEO of the YMCA-YWCA of the Central Okanagan.

Even with Mother Nature having her say, the Molson Coors Gala was a remarkable event! There were lots on amazing silent auction items to bid on, a great personal story was shared by Bill Melathopolous about living with and understanding Epilepsy, a United Way message was brought to us by Ruth Ramsted-Wood, an unbelievable performance by Gord Bamford and his band, the Pheasant Pluckers, and of course the State of the Union on the Calgary Flames from Assistant GM Jay Feaster.
The highlight of the event was the “Cheque Presentation” of $26,603.99

De G à D: Une équipe de Molson Coors composée de Martin Lévesque, directeur des ventes CSP, Geoff Molson, membre de la 7e génération des Molson et membre du CA de Molson Coors, Richard Groulx des Ventes, Ian Freedman, 1er Vice-président principal du Québec et … un peu difficile à deviner … je vous laisse me confirmer de qui il s’agit par le biais de notre blogue!!!
Nos vaillants glorieux ont porté l’équipement de hockey la semaine dernière, aux Quatre-Glaces de Pierrefonds, afin de participer à un tournoi bénéfice “Hockey pour les sans abri“. Il s’agit d’un tournoi qui se déroule dans plusieurs provinces du Canada, et qui vise à ramasser des fonds pour les personnes qui n’ont pas malheureusement pas de toit, et qui ont besoin d’un coup de pouce.
Bravo à nos ambassadeurs de Molson Coors qui faisaient partie de l’équipe Pepsico – vous étiez pas mal beaux dans cette couleur! vos habits vous allaient à ravir!
