Molson Coors Canada employees took the time to play their part this holiday season – just wanted to share photos from some volunteering initiatives that we participated in over the last month. Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday!
Cheers, @MolsonTonia
Peel Children’s Aid Society

20 employees from our Toronto head office spent two days sorting donated toys and clothing for the Holiday Wishes Toy Program which serves over 500 families in need during the holiday season.
Baycrest Hospital

The Toronto Core Sales Team was happy to help out on November 19th at Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care with it’s first annual art sale. Baycrest is a facility with a huge endowment of art. As a result of their ever-growing collection, they decided to sell some pieces and raise funds for their residents’ council. The reps from Toronto Core were on hand, along with some hard-working residents, to facilitate carry-outs to patrons cars, to help out with restocking the art tables and answering questions from customers. At the end of the day, over $1500 was raised and will be put to good use for the residents at Baycrest!

The last two weeks of October was Molson Coors Canada’s annual United Way campaign, and this year was MY first as a member of the National Committee. The first thing I’d like to say is”‘whew”. The second is “whew!”. Organizing a major campaign that raises hundreds of thousands of dollars is no easy task, but with a team of rockstar employees and incredible support from the United Way, we successfully completed our campaign with no (major) glitches!
We’re still tallying the final fundraising totals across the country, but I wanted to share a couple photos from events and also mention that United Way Toronto’s annual fundraising event, Rouge, is coming up!
What is Rouge?
“Rouge is a red-hot fundraiser not to be missed. It’s an evening of music, silent auction indulgences, and mingling. Experience an evening of mystery in mask leading up to midnight when everyone is revealed… Presented by United Way Toronto’s GenNext, this sizzling party brings people together in support of United Way Toronto’s Community Fund.” United Way Website
I got to spend some time chatting about Rouge with United Way’er Rebecca Chesley (@UWTGenNext) and decided that I’m going AND I want you to go! I have two tickets to give away to a reader and guest so they can experience Rouge themselves.
To enter for your chance to win the tickets, just leave a comment on this blog post or re-tweet the post including this link http://bit.ly/2hcGBf and @MolsonTonia. I’ll draw the winner on Thursday, November 12th (Note – must be legal drinking age)

Cheers to 20 Molson employees who spent the day at Baycrest Hospital volunteering their time gardening the terraces, assisting with events preparation and spending time with the residences in the creative arts studio.
Baycrest is a premier academic health sciences centre that focuses on aging, and Molson has been working with Baycrest over the last year through the National Mentoring Program - there are currently two University of Toronto students working at Baycrest, helping the volunteer department develop a business plan and marketing proposal.
Photos from the day:

Great photos of the volunteering day from Oreon Mounter who generously donated his time as well. More photos.
A big shout out to Heidi Pokorny (Manager, Events and Promotions at Molson) and Frank Ivankovic (Sales Manager GTA at Molson) for making the day happen – your teams rocked it.

Molson Sales Manager Frank Ivankovic is one of six Molson employees who are volunteering their time and knowledge, becoming mentors to six Queen’s University students enrolled in the corporate social responsibility certificate program. The students have selected charities with challenging issues that will be tackled by the mentor/student teams.
Frank is working with Sara Ross on her Baycrest Hospital project. They will be working together to draft a marketing plan that will address brand issues faced by Baycrest Volunteer Services Department.
