Six of our Molson Canadian/Molson Export Fund a Champion athletes joined us along with 3 other Olympians to speak about their experiences at the Games and what’s in the future for them.

Later that evening, the athletes and some of the Molson Coors crew headed to the Leafs game. Thank you to all the athletes…a truly unforgettable night. And big thanks to the MLSE folks for the jerseys, photos and intros, and of course the visit from Carlton the bear!

Have a great long weekend everyone. Cheers, @MolsonTonia

For Molson Coors, the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games will stand out as a Gold Medal achievement in the history of our company. It has been a fantastic, unforgettable experience for the entire team that has been involved. The culmination was seeing the heart stopping Men’s Hockey Gold Medal games yesterday at Hockey House and the closing ceremonies of the 21st Winter Olympics—a historic time for Vancouver, for Canada and Molson Coors. For me, these past two weeks have been an overwhelming experience. It was a dream come true to be here at the Olympics, and to be up close and personal with our Athletes, see them perform, celebrate their medals and lastly see Canada’s both women’s and men’s team win the Gold. We are proud of our final medal count; 14 Gold, a record in Winter Games and a final count of 26 medals at these Games, placing us third overall in country ranking – what a performance from our athletes. The closing ceremonies for the 21st Winter Olympics were so moving, in this time of turmoil in the world, it gives you hope for the future to see how the people of different nations can come together. It was an historic and unforgettable time for Vancouver, for Canadians and for Molson Coors, and I’m thankful to have been part of it. I want to thank all our Roving Reporters and the entire team at Molson Coors who made this possible. In this episode we’re bringing you the hype at Molson Canadian Hockey house over the week-end, which culminated with the dramatic overtime win of our Men’s Canadian Hockey team yesterday. We’re also bringing you interviews with Dave Perkins, President of Molson Coors Canada and Mark Hunter, President of Molson Coors UK about our activations and how we contributed to the success of these phenomenal 21st Olympic Winter Games.

Cheers to great Winter Olympics!

Another one of the athletes we’re proud to support, Joannie Rochette won the Bronze in Figure Skating. Inside the Molson Canadian Hockey the crowd cheered very very loudly for both medals but hearts were particularly warm as they watched Joannie’s performance which was shown live in the cathedral of hockey and let me tell you everyone in the “house” was on their feet. After those stellar moments we made sure that the beer was ice cold as the party heated up for Geoff Molson when he took on the stage along with the Women’s hockey team for the Victory Bottle celebration. In today’s show we are also featuring interviews with Heidi Pokorny manager of Events and Promotion who tell us how we keep our guest busy in Vancouver. Cheers to our great athletes and Go Canada Go!

How did this go by so fast? Today is Day 14 of the 2010 Winter Games, we’re nearing the end of the second week, and the intensity is stronger than ever. For many of our Canadian athletes these Games were their time to shine and they did just that. We have many shinning stars, but one that is really close to us all at Molson Coors, is Joannie Rochette. She’s a profoundly courageous athlete who demonstrated incredible resilience by competing despite her personal grief. Joannie performed an almost flawless short program on Tuesday placing her in third place before tonight’s final long program. I’ll be like most Canadians cheering her on, what will be an emotional evening!

For Molson Coors, these Games have also been our time to shine. We couldn’t have done it without the Molson Coors Dream Team. Everyone has come together in a really selfless way to work long hours and organize a million details. It really pays off when you see everyone having a good time at the Molson Canadian Hockey House, where we had top entertainment from Bryan Adams, Sam Roberts, Barenaked Ladies and many more. In today’s episode we’ve got an interview with Pat McEleney, our Director of Sponsorships and Events who tells us about his team’s role in this great success at the Games.

Yesterday at the Games, we honoured the natural wonders of Saskatchewan–Canada’s province in the heart of the prairies. Meanwhile, inside the Molson Canadian Hockey House, the party heated up to the sounds of Hockey – Canada vs. Germany, the spectacular performance of Joannie Rochette and finally the live performance of Sam Roberts. Our partnership with the 2010 winter games has given us an unparalleled opportunity to profile and promote our great brands, and to solidify our business, as we entertain customers, stakeholders, politicians, celebrities and VIPs—it’s all good. Tune in to today’s interviews with David Pelletier, Gold Medalist in pairs figure skating with partner Jamie Sale at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games, Dave Bigioni, Brand Director Molson Canadian and Francois-Louis Tremblay who’s getting ready for his events in short track speed skating today and Friday. Francois-Louis is pretty confident to bring Canada a couple of medals!

Vancouver is a party town extraordinaire, yet it was somewhat quieter Monday across town, must be a collective rest and relax day before the home stretch. Nevertheless it is so exciting to be part of everything Molson Coors has planned to celebrate for the 21st Winter Olympics. The Games are about so much more than sport and winning. They are about valuing our freedoms, and taking pride in our arts, culture, and heritage, especially this year about what Canada has best to offer. Today we bring you interviews with Wade Bane, Sales Director for B.C. and Guy Desrochers who won the United Way Campaign grand prize – a trip to the Winter Olympics, so guy told us about his experience at the Games. We also went and check out the entertainment action up in Whistler with a report from Roving Reporter, Marty. It was another great day at the Olympics capped with the Women’s victory in quarter finals against Finland…Today we’re holding our collective breath in Canada for the Men’s Hockey Game Canada vs. Germany! Go Canada Go!

Go Canada Go!

It’s non-stop world celebration every day here at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Molson Coors has brought tremendous excitement to the Games with our hugely popular events held either in Vancouver or Whistler. People are not only having a great time, they’re enjoying the best beer on the earth! What’s more, we have been able to provide a showcase for many talented entertainers and celebrate our Canadian Olympic medal winners with special tributes at the Molson Canadian Hockey House.

In today’s episode, we bring you highlights of the special tribute to Wayne Gretzky’s career which was held last Friday. We also bring you exclusive interviews with Thibaut Monnet, a player on the Swiss National Hockey Team, which fiercely fought Canada’s best hockey players last week, and CBC’s Dragon and Boston Pizza Owner & CEO, Jim Treliving. Finally, see highlights of yesterday’s action at Molson Canadian Hockey House, dubbed the number one attraction in Vancouver according to CTV.

In closing, I’d like to offer my condolences to Joannie Rochette and her family in these difficult times. Joannie is one of the athletes we support through our Fund a Champion program. We can only salute her force of character and courage in light of her mother’s sudden passing this week-end.
