Molson Coors Volunteers “sharpen their pencils” for Heart & Stroke

It is the last week of April and the Molson Coors’ volunteers sharpen their pencils and flex their fingers to help the Heart and Stroke Foundation in local offices.  Volunteers are needed at this time of year to help out with administration tasks, such as writing out receipts for donations, data entry and counting money from school campaigns in the area.  Three groups of volunteers rose to the occasion and  were able  to cover off a morning and two afternoons at  Brampton and Toronto Heart & Stroke Offices.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation, a volunteer-based health charity, leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through: the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living, and advocacy – please see www.heartandstroke.on.ca !

Molson Coors employees in Western Canada step up for Month of Action

What an honour it was to be a part of Western Canada’s volunteering initiative for Molson Coors’ April Month of Action. On April 30th, almost 75 Molson Coors employees in 7 different cities (Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Victoria), across 4 different provinces, volunteered their time at local Food Banks helping those in need. As a result of the thousands of pounds of food sorted and packed by Molson Coors employees,  literally thousands of people were and will be positively affected from Manitoba through to BC.

Below are some pictures and info from each city.

Hats off to everyone in Western Canada who Played Their Part in helping to make to make life a little brighter for those in need.

Month of Action in Ottawa = Hockey time!

Month of Action - Hockey For The Homeless, Ottawa

Not going to lie, I’m a little jealous of our Ottawa Sales team’s Month of Action event last week.  The team volunteered at  Hockey for the Homeless on April 23rd, an organization that raises funds and awareness in support of homeless-solutions organizations through charitable fantasy hockey tournaments.

The Molson Coors folks spent the day volunteering as score keepers at the Bell Sensplex, Kanata for fifteen or so NHL Alumni + participants.  I’m not sure which Alumni attended or the results of the event yet, but knowing first hand how the tournaments went last year, I’m sure it was an amazing day/experience.

Molson Coors has sponsored many HFTH tournaments across Canada over the last two years, but this was the first one in Ottawa.  Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal also host events – definitely something to check out/consider if you’re a hockey fan.  More details

Cheers! @MolsonTonia

Tree Planting on Earth Day with Partners in Project Green

April Month of Action - Tree Planting, Toronto

Last weekend, Molson Coors employees and their families joined Partners in Project Green as they celebrated Earth Day with a tree planting event in the Pearson Eco-Business Zone.  Molson Coors is a partner in what is being called the largest eco-business zone in North America.  The goal is to transform the 12,000 hectares of industrial and commercial land area surrounding Toronto’s Pearson International Airport into a sustainable eco-industrial park.

Along with the City of Mississauga and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority staff, 150 volunteers from many businesses in the area planted 500 trees and shrubs along the Etobicoke Creek (King’s Park).

April Month of Action - Tree Planting, Toronto

This was one of the MANY Month of Action initiatives Molson Coors Canada has participated in during April.  I think this is probably my favourite initiative – Tree planting, sunshine and BBQ after.  What could be better?
