C’est avec beaucoup d’honneur que j’ai accepté, au nom de Molson Coors, la présidence d’honneur des Mardis cyclistes de Lachine présenté par Saputo, pour la saison estivale 2010.
What an honor it is for me to represent Molson Coors as Honorary President of “Mardis cyclistes de Lachine”, a weekly competition to be deployed in the heart of Lachine, every Tuesday of the 2010 Summer (with the exception of July 20). I invite members of the population to enjoy and appreciate with their families and friends, one or more of the 10 races to take place within the next couple of months. What a great team surrounding the President-Founder of the event, Mr. Tino Joseph Rossi, since 1978. An event not to be missed! The finale will take place on Tuesday, August 17 … I am looking forward to enjoying the event, along with one of our cold Molson Coors !!! A Molson M perhaps ?!

As this beautiful Sunday of the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend unfolds, (in Toronto that is…I know northwestern Ontario has had snow…no doubt they are enjoying a warm fire and a good magazine, book or clearing of emails…the west looks pretty chilly and the east still above zero with their autumn Maritime weather) it is great to raise a glass to all that we have to be thankful for. As families, friends, neighbors and acquaintances gather for turkey and trimmings, and a nice cold glass of beer (lots to choose from in the Molson Coors portfolio folks) we can raise a glass to our country Canada, it’s people and the multitude and diverse communities and cultures that it represents. Its also a time of celebration as is sure the case to be at the Kitchener Waterloo Oktoberfest this weekend. It is just one of the multi cultural events that celebrates heritage from another land but brings it home to Canada as we celebrate together as Canadians in our cultural mosaic. Let us also remember on this weekend those who are less fortunate and who can use a hand out or a hand up to make their day a little more comfortable. I’m mindful of the challenges that food banks across the country face in times of economic difficulty. We can all play a part by making a donation to our local foodbanks. So many can be helped if we channel our efforts this way. Thanks for helping to make a difference for someone in need.
Happy Thanksgiving Canada from all of us at Molson Coors Canada. @MolsonFerg

Thanksgiving weekend marked the beginning of the 2008 Oktoberfest festival in Kitchener-Waterloo, the nine day, largest Bavarian festival in North America. This year is the 40th anniversary of Oktoberfest, and Molson is one of the sponsors.
I’m from Waterloo, so Oktoberfesting is something I’ve enjoyed for many years. This weekend I was super busy with family activities and didn’t make it to some of the great night events (next weekend, I’ll be out!). The Molson Oktoberfest crew was at the Concordia Club on Saturday night — Anyone go? Would love to hear about it and see photos. Concordia is one of my favourite venues!
On Thanksgiving Monday, I went to the Oktoberfest parade — best one to date! Marching bands, great floats, and dancers…more pics.

At the end of the parade, volunteers collected donations and non-perishable food items for the Onkel Hans Food Drive, supporting the Food Bank of Waterloo Region. Molson kicked off the annual Food Drive this year at Zhers last Saturday. Nineteen volunteers (employees, friends and family of Molson), spent a full day collecting food and cash donations and raising awareness about the most needed items. Molson raised $6,186.87 total CASH and 2,854.6 lbs of FOOD……which equals over 300+ filled beer cases!!!

Where were you Oktoberfesting? Planning to go this weekend? Hope to see you there!
Prosit!
