Earlier this year we asked Canadians from coast to coast to share their stories about how they’ve left their mark as a Canadian, and lots of people started sharing their memories and adventures with us. The Make Your Mark contest ended with us sending 12 lucky Canadians on a weekend trip to Dublin, Ireland!
Upon arrival, the winners tried their hand at Irish dancing, hurling, gaelic football and many more activities as part of their weekend adventure.
Kiss me, I’m Canadian!
The group visited a variety of pubs and purchased Molson Canadian beers for other guests, and celebrated in true Canadian-style. Beavers, Mounties and beer, oh my!
Don’t believe us? Just watch the video below to get a taste of what happened when Canadians got together…in the Emerald Isle!
April 30th marks the official start of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, and we couldn’t be more excited! The Habs & Leafs flags are flying proudly at our Montreal and Toronto breweries as we all eagerly wait for the puck to drop.
Communities and fans will come together as we all cheer on our favourite teams. Each of the 16 teams have played hard to clinch their playoff spots for the opportunity and honour to raise the Cup.
Which team will you be rooting for? Let us know in our comments section for a chance to win a cooler bag filled with goodies! (contest closes at 3pm EST on Friday, May 3, 2013).
Last month we shared an amazing story about how 4 of our fans made a trip to Peru and culminated their adventure by sharing a beer on the peak of Machu Picchu. Stories like this about how Canadians are leaving their mark while travelling or at home in this great country are being brought to light through ‘The Canadians’.
Stories and photos are pouring in from coast to coast, like this one pictured below, where a group of friends from the Yukon built an Inuksuk at the Great Wall of China!
What happens when Canadians get together? We’ve been getting a glimpse of what happens from people tagging their photos with #MolsonCanadian and connecting with us on social media. Here are a few more of these wonderful memories our fans have been sharing with us:

Yup, this Saturday, August 7th is National BBQ Day, and the national, youth-led charity Meal Exchange is inviting Canadians to take part in the yummy day while also fighting hunger in Canada.
What’s the ask? It’s simple:
Register & host your own backyard BBQ for friends, family and neighbors to raise awareness about Canada’s hunger problems.
Meal Exchange believes that everyone in Canada should have access to sufficient, nutritious, and culturally acceptable food in order to maintain a healthy & active life. Did you know that 2.7 million Canadians don’t know where their next meal is coming from?
How to participate (and a change to win 2 WestJet tickets!):
Register your BBQ at http://nationalbbqday.eventbrite.com/ and send Meal Exchange a photo of your BBQ’ing fun to nationalBBQday@mealexchange.com
You can also tweet about your BBQ fun using hashtag – #nationalBBQday
Registration is FREE, but here’s some food for thought: it takes only $28 for Meal Exchange to empower one youth to take action against hunger in their community. Donate here to help Meal Exchange support youth across Canada.
So this pretty much sounds like the perfect day to me – BBQ, a case of Rickard’s beer (taster’s pack – Red, White and Dark of course) and raising awareness about hunger.
Will you be participating? Have a BBQ/grilling recipe worthy of National BBQ Day!
It’s week three of the #raiseapint (of Glory) campaign where Molson Coors Canada, the Firkin Group and the Ontario Association of Food Banks are partnering to help those in need this holiday season. For every pint of Rickard’s purchased at one of the 29 participating Firkin Pub locations in Ontario, both the Firkin Group and Molson Coors Canada will donate $0.25 to the OAFB. Guests may also make non-perishable food donations at the pubs.
To help encourage folks to get out there and raise a pint, I’m prizing a $50.00 gift certificate to Firkin Pubs (thank you Firkin friends!) once a week until the end of the campaign on Dec. 25th.
To enter for your chance to win a $50 Firkin Pub Gift Certificate this week, leave a comment on the blog telling us where YOU raised a pint to support the OAFB (was it at a Swan and Firkin? Owl and Firkin?) or re-tweet this post on twitter including this link: http://bit.ly/92HIq6 and @MolsonTonia. I’ll draw the winner next Monday a.m. Dec., 21th ). Note: You must be legal drinking age to participate, no purchase necessary.
As the Firkin folks say… You’ll have a good Firkin time for a great Firkin cause…..thanks for supporting the Ontario Association of Food Banks.
