BIG things happening in the small town of RiversShare Tweet
Earlier this month, we got together with the Town of Rivers at a social to celebrate Molson Coors’ $75,000 Community Cheer donation. The funds will go toward completing the second level of the new 62,000sqft facility at the heart of the Rivers community.
An estimated 300-400 people came out to the town social held at the Riverdale Community Complex where our Sales Representative, Val Robertson, presented the cheque to the fundraising committee and Mayor Todd Gill.
The small rural town in Manitoba submitted their application to Community Cheer to help with their goal of constructing a viewing lounge, hall and commercial kitchen in time for their 2013 Homecoming. The new viewing spaces will overlook the four sheet curling rink and NHL-sized ice rink inside the $7-million community complex.
MLA for Riding Mountain, Leanne Rowat, summarized it best when she said the centre will continue to be a wonderful place for surrounding communities to socialize and participate in events. “Let this success story be a shining example to other rural communities that with a little determination and creativity, great community projects are possible.”
