The countdown is on! 111 days until 400 athletes and coaches from across Ontario will gather together in Thunder Bay, Ontario to compete in the 2011 Special Olympics Provincial Winter Games. These games provide the opportunity for these athletes to potentially represent Ontario at the 2012 Special Olympics Winter games in St. Albert, AB.
Some of you may know that Molson Coors Canada was the official beer supplier of the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. The cheque in the photo above is in the shape of the Molson Canadian victory bottle that was presented to our Canadian athletes. The Games was proud moment for Molson Coors to play our part uniting Canada’s Olympic and Paralympic spirit from coast to coast to coast. Our support here for the Special Olympics is no different – we have a long-standing tradition of supporting local and major sports throughout the communities in which we operate, and we’re excited to cheer on the 400+ athletes and coaches from across Ontario as they reach for the podium in the 2011 Special Olympics.
