The Beer Store Bottle Drive May 29-30

The Beer Store in Ontario and members of Local 12R24 will be taking back returns for Leukemia and Lymphoma this coming Saturday and Sunday, May 29th and 30th. Volunteers will be posted at all 440 Beer Stores across Ontario, to invite customers to donate returns from their empty bottles (any and all beer, wine, spirits containers) to Leukemia research. 100% of the money will be sent directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Canada, to support research in Canada.
2,000 volunteers, many of whom are giving up their shift at work to try to help fund a cure for this disease. This could be the biggest bottle drive in the world (and they are currently registering it with The Guinness World Book of Records). Let’s spread the word about this unique bottle drive at The Beer Store and help them make a difference.
This is the 5th bottle drive. results reported year one $220,000, year two $500,001, year three $647,913 , and last year raised $830,007 totaling over $2 million dollars. One year – maybe this year, they can raise $1,000,000. It’s only as successful as beverage alcohol drinkers in Ontario make it by taking back their empties.
