Today, I had the privilege of attending the kickoff to Vancouver 2010 Winter Games torch relay on the lawn of the BC legislature. It was an amazing experience with literally thousands of Victorians and other Canadians lining the streets for a view of the torch bearers.
I’ve attached a little video that I shot. Hopefully it give you a bit of a sense of what the energy level was like; it was truly amazing.
We at Molson Coors are so proud to be the Official Beer Supplier to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games and are looking forward to celebrating with Canadians from Coast to Coast to Coast!

The Student Wellness Initiative Toward Community Health (SWITCH) and Molson Coors Canada teamed up to serve Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday, October 10th at SWITCH from 11am – 1:30pm. With help from sponsorship support, a few Molson Coors Canada employees and student volunteers, SWITCH served a free come and go turkey dinner to residents of Saskatoon’s core neighbourhoods. “We’re thrilled to be able to help.” says Devin Baxter, Sales Manager Molson Coors Canada and volunteer. “Molson Coors Canada supports making good nutrition available to those who cannot afford it.” What better way than by inviting all of SWITCH’s clients in for a free Thanksgiving dinner?” In addition to lending a helping hand, Molson Coors Canada made a $7500.00 donation to SWITCH.
One of only four student managed primary health care centers in Canada, SWITCH operates an after-hours interprofessional wellness centre which is managed by student volunteers from the University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina and SIAST in the disciplines of medicine, nursing, social work, clinical psychology, pharmacy, nutrition, kinesiology, physical therapy, public health, arts and science, educational psychology and dentistry. Students provide clinical, social and program services and are mentored by professionals from those same disciplines and more. Together, they provide holistic health care to residents of Saskatoon’s core neighbourhoods. “It’s only natural that as a health care center, we would want to help provide good nutrition for our clients. We’re very grateful for Molson Coors Canada support.” says SWITCH Coordinator Carole Courtney.

This award is given annually to the Westside business which has made an outstanding contribution in the combined areas of overall business success, innovation and community service. We are extremely honoured to have been judged worthy of this prestigious community award from amongst several nominees.
We at Molson Coors are very proud of our 51 year history of brewing beer in our Burrard St. brewery and our overall 223 year legacy of brewing Canada’s favourite beers and helping to build Canada’s communities through our extensive community involvement. Locally, we are proud sponsors of many initiatives including the Corona Open and KITSFEST, which was the winner of the Westside Community Spirit Award last night (congrats to Howard Kelsey and his team for their win!). And at our Vancouver brewery, we are proud of our achievement in reducing our energy consumption by almost 20% in the last 5 years, with more sustainability efforts in the works.
We are proud to play our part in the Kitsilano community to help make Vancouver and Canada a great place to live and play and are looking forward to helping the world celebrate as Official Beer Supplier to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Cheers to all of the finalists and winners from last night.
Last week Molson Coors Canada’s South Western Ontario Sales team took on 8 straight hours of rain and cold to collect much needed donations for the London Food Bank. I took the short road trip to London to join the team and volunteer with them for the day.
Our goal was to collect $5000 worth of food and monetary donations stationed outside of the Metro grocery store at Clarke and Trafalgar Rd. in London, ON. With some enthusiasm, a little music and a whole lot of Molson spirit, we successfully reached and surpassed our goal, collecting 5900 lbs of food = $9000. The Molson Donations Fund also donated $5000, making our grand total $14000! Our team was so impressed with the generosity from the people of London, the Metro and the food bank.
The cold feet and frizzy hair was well worth it Cheers, @MolsonTonia.

Team leader Kevin Britton escorted the customers through the rain with his giant umbrella the entire day!
