L to R: Roland Stanke, Mayor of Clinton; Tony Talarico, Molson Sales Rep
Recently, Molson British Columbia Sales representative Tony Talarico had the opportunity to present a $6,000 donation to the Village of Clinton, British Columbia. These funds are for the completion of the new Zamboni shed at the Clinton arena.
At Molson, we are proud to play our part in Canadian communities from coast-to coast-to coast in supporting initiatives, like this one in Clinton, that promote active lifestyles, skills development and healthy communities.

Jason Blake is working hard and it is paying off. He is the Molson Cup winner for both January and February and as the winner presents the “On Ice Molson Cup Donation” to selected charities.
The charity receiving the $1,000.00 in January was Special Olympics and February featured The Justin Eves Foundation.

I was introduced to the Justin Eves Foundation early in my career here in Government Affairs and have seen how The “Minds In Motion Awards” impact our students with learning disabilities. If it were not for the Foundation, many students would never realize their true potential and experience post secondary education. This award helps offset the cost of tutors, note takers, special software and other accommodations that may be required by the student. For more information on this great cause visit the website at www.justinevesfoundation.com.
March is around the corner, maybe Jason will have a Molson Cup hat trick!!!
Have a great day, Carole

Since I started working at Molson just over a year ago, there have been at least five blood drives at the Toronto brewery plus the annual Molson/Montreal Alouettes blood drive in Montreal. We just had our most recent drive at the end of January where 27 Molson employees donated enough blood to save up to 75 lives. Unfortunately, I couldn’t participate that time, but I do try to give as often as possible. It’s a simple act that can make a huge difference.
When I went to the Canadian Blood Services site to link this blog post, I found some background info on blood types – almost like blood type horoscopes! According to some experts, your career and diet can be influenced by blood type. I’m Type AB and according to the site, I am cool and sensible (I think so!), I love vegetables (I’m vegetarian), and I am a negotiator (definitely). Does your blood type fit your personality?
One more piece of blood trivia: Did you know that one unit of blood can save up to three lives?
Have you donated recently? If you’re healthy – book now! Cheers.

I have never met Val from the north face to face, but I love what he does. He is one of the most community active employees I have had the opportunity to work with. Keep up the great work Val, Carole

Hockey is one sport that seems to tie our Communities together, not only in Ontario but coast to coast. I have had the opportunity to work with Ryan Hill, Business Development person at Hockey Northwestern Ontario on several occasions and he understands that a partnership is more than the “cashing of the cheque”. I know that Ryan and his organization will make our donation of $8,500.00 work hard for them. Rink boards will be upgraded and materials will be developed for coaching, trainers, Speak Out and referee clinics to name a few. I look forward to working with Ryan on the upcoming tournaments and various events to make each one a memorable time for all involved.
I am Proud to Play my Part in my community! Cheers, Val

Mary Donohue (centre) with Molson CEO and President Kevin Boyce (L) and Molson Chief Legal and Public Affairs Officer Scott Ewart
Being a past Mentor, I had the first hand experience of the great benefits of the program and working with Mary. You always know when Mary is around — non stop commotion-ideas twirling around-and a go go attitude of not taking “no” for an answer.
Canadian Fundraiser and Philanthropy e News recently had an article “National Mentoring Program pilot creates win-win-win-win” mentioning Molson Mentor Program and the work of Mary Donohue. Take a read and remember all the mentors that have impacted your life in some way. A great way of giving back to the community– your time, knowledge, and experience.
Congrats Mary, you rock.
