Jolly Jinglers to Raise Awareness for Molson Responsible Choices Message

Home for the Holidays

This holiday season Molson will be promoting responsible choices with an interactive e-card on line. This  e-card is appropriately called Jolly Jinglers. To promote safe and responsible drinking, Molson and the folks at Bristol Communications have created this e-card for people to celebrate responsible choices. You can upload your own photo to be placed on a character, choose a background for the card and then select from three specially written songs for the responsible drinking “home for the holidays” promotional campaign. And after sending the card, Canadian residents, who are legal drinking age outside of Quebec, are eligible for $1000 towards their trip home for the holidays. In Quebec they will be running the Molson Angels program again this year at various on premise accounts.

Jolly Jinglers is just one part of our holiday campaign to promote responsible choices. Molson is also proud to be celebrating ten years with 1-888-TAXIGUY and in partnership with TAXIGUY we are offering 10% of taxi vouchers with a minimum purchase of $50.00. Use promo code MOLSON.

Molson is also partnering with a number of cities in Canada on holiday res ponsible choice promotions including some “free rides” home on New Years eve with a number of transit authorities and special awareness initiatives with police in major cities to raise awareness of repsonsible choices and specifically not to drink and drive.

So click through to the Jolly Jinglers and send your e-card to friends and family today.  Here’s To Responsible Choices this holiday season and throughout the entire year.

Molson Dives in

GTA Diving Club

You never know what your fellow employees are up to when not in the office, so isn’t it great when you find out that someone is doing something really cool — something you never expected?  Well, that happened to me last week when I learned that Graham Hopper, a Molson employee, is also a diver-extrodinaire at the GTA Diving Club.

Graham joined the club a year ago to find a unique way to get into shape as well as overcome his fear of heights.  He trains with a coach who has produced three Olympic divers and is now diving from the 5-meter platform, doing flips on the trampoline and hand stands on the lower diving board!  His ultimate goal is diving from the 10-meter platform.

When Graham first joined the club, it was in critical need of training equipment. So, being a company that supports sports facilities and programs, Molson provided a $3,000 donation to help purchase training equipment like a trampoline and safety harnesses.

Well done Graham!  As a former competitive swimmer/lifeguard, I have a great appreciation for the water, but can’t say I’ve ever dived off a 10-meter platform!

Molson Canadian Voted Favorite Beer by the Toronto Sun Readers!

I’m excited to share that for the second year in a row Toronto Sun readers have voted Molson Canadian their favourite beer in the Sun’s 15th Annual Reader’s Choice Awards.

What makes this win even more significant is that the vote was the result of an unprompted write-in submission. A special congrats needs to go out to the folks at our Toronto Brewery who continue to craft delicious beers day in and day out.

Sun readers can see full poll results, which rank reader’s local favourites from food to entertainment, shopping to fashion in today’s print paper.

Thanks Toronto!

Molson’s Clock goes High-tech

Molson Clock at Montreal Brewery

For those who live in Montreal or have seen the Molson brewery there recently, you may have noticed some renovations on the west wall of the brewery, facing downtown. The symbolic clock,  in the shape of our Molson Export brand label, was given a lighting-makeover.  The clock’s former neon lights were replaced with LED lighting components that will allow it to shine on just 28% of the energy it previously used to operate.  The new lights will last six times longer too.

Did you know?

The clock dates back to 1950 and has a pretty big impact on the community in Montreal.

Whenever the clock malfunctions or is stopped for maintenance, the citizens of the Borough of Ville-Marie are quick to call Molson and let Serge Chevrier (Molson employee in Montreal who is responsible for the clock’s upkeep) know that it’s not working and also ask when it will be functioning again.  Serge gets tons of calls if the clock isn’t adjusted immediately when daylight savings time changes occur!

Happy Wednesday!

Art au Travail

Thanks to Marieke Tremblay, guest blogger on Molson in the Community, for sharing her experience, photos and some video of Art au Travail in Montreal!  Art au Travail means Art at Work — a new program of “Culture pour tous’ that supports the organization’s objectives of developing cultural dimensions in all areas of the community and making art more accessible to the public at large.

Marieke is the VP of Government and Public Affairs of Molson in Montreal and also sits on the board of directors of Culture pour tous.

Cheers, Tonia
