In the Dark during Earth Hour

Molson Toronto Brewery

Well, Earth Hour is over, and what a success it was!  I spent my Earth Hour at Molson, watching the brewery and offices go dark.  Above is a picture of the brewery, just after 8:00 p.m.  It was still a little bit light outside, so I took another couple shots closer to 9:00 p.m. (below), when it was really dark!

The offices were just as dark as the brewery, so I decided to wander around with my little video camera and take some clips.

Thanks to everyone for making Earth Hour such a success at Molson.  It was wonderful having so much enthusiasm for climate change awareness — let’s keep it going!

Molson’s Earth Hour task force in action.  The team went around on Friday afternoon to make sure each office, room, desk, etc. was Earth Hour Certified.

  1. what a great feeling amongst employees to raise awareness about climate change and engage in this wonderful event…we had a neighbourhood party and then proceeded to the Leaside Bridge over the Don Valley where we watched the city lights go dim. It was particularly cool when the BMO tower flicked off their logo about a quarter past the hour…they must have been franticlly searching for the switch. Great effort everyone…proud to play our part ! Cheers…Ferg

  2. Environmental enthusiasm also played out in my neighborhood on Saturday night, with those whose lights remained on during Earth Hour treated to a corus of boos from angry neighbours!

Congrats again on a worthwhile initiative!

  3. Congratulations to Molson’s employees for showing such enthusiasm for raising awareness of climate change. I was thrilled when I came into work this morning and saw that Molson’s Earth Hour Task Force had placed “Earth-Hour Certified” stickers on everyone’s desks and office doors. It’s great to be part of a company that gets involved and is proud to play its part. Way to go!
