Toque Tuesday a Success — Molson Employees Swarm the Streets of Toronto in RED
It was quite the sight watching 1,100 Molson employees, dressed in red hockey jerseys, marching out of the Sheraton hotel this morning, off to sell toques in support of Raising the Roof’s national fundraiser, Toque Tuesday.

g bright and early at 5:00 a.m., the pack of eager toque sellers (well, tired, but eager) were led out of the hotel by a marching band and Kevin Boyce, President and CEO of Molson. The group then split into 60 smaller groups who took over the downtown Toronto core — literally. If you were downtown this morning between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., you most likely ran into RED and were asked to buy a toque to help put a cap on homeless.
I had the great job of following the groups, taking video of them, and getting to see the Molson community spirit– first hand and in full force.

As one of the eager Molson employees I have to say, toques off to EVERYONE, on Tuesday’s Toque Tuesday event.
February 6th, 2008 at 12:22 pmI am proud to work for a company that will support Molson in our communities across Canada. I was on the road in one of the Toque Tuesday vans re stocking our groups with toques when needed and capturing all I could on video. To witness this was beyond words, everywhere we drove our troops were hard at selling their toques. I hope everyone will share some of there stories from the morning.
Wow!! This was truly a rewarding and engaging event. Quite frankly the people of Toronto were so generous, it was a lot of fun being part of this event and well worth waking up before dawn. Looking forward to our next Molson event in the community.
February 6th, 2008 at 1:05 pmI just wanted to share with you one of my experiences when selling the toques on Tuesday.
A woman was coming out of the subway station with her little 4 or 5 year-old boy, who, evidently, had been crying, because I could still see two tear drops on his cheeks. Since, a few minutes earlier, I had been given a 20 $ donation, no toque required, I approached the little boy, told him I had a gift for him and gave him a toque. A timid smile appeared on his face, he took his mother’s hand and left. So, I turned around and started my selling pitch to other passersby. A minute or two later, someone tugged at my jersey. I turned around and there was the little boy, both hands open with a 10 $ bill. Needless to say that it was a very touching moment that brought tears to my eyes…
