Let the “cheering” begin / Que les “saluts” commençent

A big thank you to the hundreds of Canadian community leaders, organizations, groups and charities for submitting a Molson Coors Community Cheer project over the last couple months.  The time had now come to “cheer” for the projects that will be considered for funding from Molson Coors this year!

Molson Coors Canada is donating up to $1 million in support of a minimum of 20 projects, programs and initiatives that promote active lifestyles across Canadian communities.  Community projects at www.ourcommunitycheer.com that receive a minimum of 225 “cheers” (votes) will become a finalist for funding.  In March, we’ll announce which projects are successful and will receive the funding!

They have been successful in diverting almost 1 million pounds away from Caledon landfills each year and contribute a significant amount of money annually to Caledon Community Services, a multi-service, community-impact organization that helps people help themselves by working creatively and responding to community needs like, among other things, homelessness, hunger, employment services, support for new Canadians and for seniors.

Best of the Season to One and All

tree

As the last day of “fall” reaches it’s end here in Toronto I wanted to extend the very best of the season to our readers, friends, partners and beer drinkers who follow the Molson Coors Community Blog. At this festive time of year we have a chance to reflect on the year past and look forward to renewed challenges of the new year. It’s time to pass along a little of the holiday spirit…like this small tree that my wife and I and neighbours decorate along one of the dog walking paths to put a smile on the face of passers by… (hey Torontonians…if you can tell me where it …

Lending a hand during the holidays

Door is Open 2011

It’s that time of year when we all hope we can somehow make an impact in the communities where we work and live. Whether it’s purchasing a toy for a holiday gift drive, a donation to your local food bank, or volunteering at a holiday fundraising event.  Just last week, our Molson Coors employees reminded me again how the holidays can bring out the best in people and how proud I am to work with people who care about their communities.
